Megan Brumagim has been named Ice President Of Environmental, Social And Governance at Choice Hotels International, Inc. in Rockville

Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH), one of the world’s largest lodging franchisors, has appointed Megan Brumagim to the newly created role of vice president of environment, social and governance (ESG ).

In this new role, Brumagim will lead Choice’s sustainability and corporate social responsibility initiatives, championing the pillars of environmental sustainability, human rights, diversity and inclusion, philanthropy and community and corporate governance. In addition to continuing the company’s existing mission-driven initiatives – from its key partnerships such as Operation Homefront to support service members and their families to its cutting-edge efforts to improve opportunities for minority-owned businesses and more – Brumagim will continue to develop the company’s ESG plan to drive alignment among key stakeholders and ensure Choice remains well positioned to leverage its corporate engagement efforts.

Brumagim joined Choice Hotels in 2015 as head of the company’s flagship brand, Comfort Hotels, and quickly rose to the position of vice president of brand management, design and compliance, where she oversaw the strategy and performance of Choice’s leading brands. In addition to playing a pivotal role in some of the company’s most important initiatives, including the Comfort brand transformation and the launch of the Rise and Shine prototype, Brumagim led the pandemic response for key Choice brands and helped develop the company’s commitment to the cleanup initiative.

Throughout his successful tenure and prior to his recent appointment, Brumagim has also taken on an increasing role in furthering Choice’s sustainability efforts, both at the corporate and hotel level. Most recently, she led a pilot program to begin tracking energy, water and waste usage at the property level – a critical step in helping Choice Hotels owners mitigate the associated costs and to reduce their environmental impact.

Prior to Choice, Brumagim served as Senior Director of Global Brand Management at Marriott International and previously held positions at leading consultancies McKinsey & Company and Booz Allen Hamilton. Brumagim holds a BA from Harvard University and an MBA from London Business School.
